Wales Is The Most Sleep Deprived Nation in Britain

According to a recent survey conducted by Expert Reviews, Wales has been revealed as the most sleep deprived nation in Britain, with 56% of Welsh individuals getting less than 7 hours of sleep per night.

Despite NHS guidelines suggesting that adults require 7-9 hours of sleep per night, Wales stands out as the sole region where over half of the residents (56%), fail to meet this requirement. Instead, residents of Wales actually receive less than 7 hours of sleep each night. Comparatively, in England, 45% experience less than the recommended sleep duration, while in Scotland, the figure stands at 41%.

As Wales is Britain’s most sleep deprived region, understandably they are also the nation experiencing the greatest sleep dissatisfaction (55%). England falls in second place with 49% of residents feeling dissatisfied with their sleep, while the Expert Reviews survey found that Scotland has the least residents experiencing sleep dissatisfaction (44%).

The comfort and quality of a bed has the ability to make or break your sleep pattern. Mattresses that lack comfort, space and support could leave you feeling tired and achy. In order to avoid this impacting on the duration of your sleep, the National Bed Federation recommends replacing your mattress every seven to eight years.
