  • UK’s first ‘Movement Hour’ to take place on 5th March at 3pm GMT

In a new move to boost the health of the nation’s workforce, The Body Coach is calling on business leaders and owners across the country to give employees an hour off in March to move their bodies during the working day.

The Body Coach, a company founded and run by Joe Wicks, has coined this ‘Movement Hour’, and is asking employers up and down the country to commit to giving employees an hour off from their regular working duties to prioritise their physical and mental health.

With daily movement offering proven benefits including increased energy, lifted mood and boosted productivity, ‘Movement Hour’ is designed to help the nation’s employees reset their relationship with exercise and take a stand against a more sedentary lifestyle.

Joe Wicks, founder of The Body Coach and a leading figure in health and fitness, comments: “Our lives are busier than ever and it can often be hard to prioritise ourselves and our health and fitness. So what if we could help employees find a bit of time for themselves during the work day? I’m on a mission to revolutionise workplace wellness by inspiring the nation to think about how we can support employees to be more active, so I’m calling on as many UK businesses as possible to join the movement!”

The UK’s first ‘Movement Hour’ will take place 3-4pm on Wednesday 5th March 2025. Companies are encouraged to pledge their participation during this hour, or get involved in however works best for their business while still ensuring employees get time for exercise.

Joe Wicks adds: “I know it won’t be easy for some businesses or workplaces to participate, but even if you can only commit to 20 minutes, or do an hour across the week, that will still have a massive impact. It’s about the commitment to resetting workplace habits, and prioritising health as well as wealth. Together, we can help boost employees’ physical and mental health for them to be fitter, healthier and happier.”

To join the Movement Hour, visit https://www.thebodycoach.com/movementhour/. Businesses that pledge their participation will have access to a series of downloadable assets that can be shared with employees and on social media. Assets to be available from early 2025.

By committing to take part, you’ll also be in with a chance to get a visit to your business from Joe in 2025.
