The Soke to open new centre in Wimbledon to meet rising demand for mental health and wellness services

The Soke announces the upcoming launch of a brand new clinic in Wimbledon, which will offer specialist mental health and wellness services for children, adults and families across South West London and beyond.

Following an increase in demand for specialist and accessible services across all categories, Soke Wimbledon will open its doors in May 2023 as the second centre under The Soke umbrella. It follows the successful launch and growth of its flagship centre in South Kensington, which first opened in 2020.

The new clinic will be located at 1 Compton Road, SW19 7QA, in a 2,600 square foot building occupying the ground and mezzanine floors of The Old Post Office. The centre will include eight treatment rooms and space for larger group therapy sessions.

Soke Wimbledon will open with eight new practitioners to offer best-in-class psychotherapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors and leadership development specialists. They cover common behavioural health issues such as depression, anxiety and other non-acute disorders; offer family therapy, child & adolescent counselling, and corporate wellbeing services. Clients will benefit from an accessible and integrated system of care in one location, ensuring their individual needs are met at every junction, and enabling them to become the best version of themselves.

Maryam Meddin, founder & CEO of The Soke, comments:

“When we launched The Soke, it was with the intention of showing that if mental health services were less clinical and more accessible, more people would be amenable to finding out how they could benefit from them; this theory of de-stigmatisation had to be proven through practice. Over the past two years we have been overwhelmed with the positive response from those who have become our clients, as well as those who endorse what we’re doing through their encouragement and moral support. We’re pleased to now extend our reach, both geographically and in other ways, by creating a smaller, ‘local’ version of our centre to serve the South West London community and beyond.

“Soke Wimbledon will continue to operate according to the principles that helped us to win an ‘Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission, principles we live by to ensure that those who seek out mental health care can do so armed with the knowledge that they – and their loved ones – are in uncompromisingly safe, caring and experienced hands.”
