– Bali Emerges as Premier Yoga Holiday Destination with Nearly 200 Retreats

– Tokyo Secures Second Spot as Prime Relaxation Destination with 1000 Spa and Wellness Facilities

Wellness holidays are in high demand with over 200K searches across Google, TikTok and Instagram, but which destinations offer the best-in-class active experience for those who want a health-first holiday?

Women’s activewear brand, OCEANSAPART, has delved into the number of active, spa and wellness experiences as well as other factors that enhance a holiday across 20 of the most popular bucket list destinations globally, to determine the best locations for health and wellbeing enthusiasts.

The World’s Top 10 Wellness Holidays

OCEANSAPART’s study found that out of all the globe’s most desirable holiday locations Hawaii has the most to offer for health and wellbeing travellers. From active pursuits like hiking to relaxation experiences like spa days, Hawaii has it all and it ranks within the top 5 sunniest destinations year-round on our list.

One of the best spots for walking/hiking – in and around the city – and high on the list of top places to travel for spa and relaxation experiences, London comes in a close second.

Bali Crowned the World’s Premier Destination for Yoga Lovers

With 100% surge in demand for yoga (Metis), travel geared towards this mindful practice is set to be the next biggest thing. But where are the best holiday locations for yoga enthusiasts?

Boasting close to 200 yoga retreats and services, Bali tops the list. For wellness holiday goers looking for more an all-round active experience Bali also ranks in the top 10 for hiking and water sports.

Hawaii comes a close second on the list of top destinations for Yoga Lovers with nearly 150 yoga retreats and services followed, surprisingly, by London. Despite the city often being associated with hustle and bustle vs. more mindful activities, London has close to 120 yoga offerings.

Tokyo Ranks Second as Premier Relaxation Hub

Now more than ever is prime time for a relaxation retreat, with searches for depression up by 210% (Metis).

For those looking for a holiday that aids mind as much as body, Bali is top with over 1600 spa and wellbeing facilities, but Tokyo is close behind with nearly 1400 spa and wellbeing offerings! Tokyo also ranks in the top ten for yoga and hiking, making it a first-rate destination for travellers after a mindful getaway.

Methodology and Sources: OCEANSAPART created a seed list of the 50 most published ‘bucketlist’ travel destinations and refined this by search and social data to determine the 20 most popular. The team then researched multiple sources to find out; the number of hiking trails, yoga facilities, water sports facilities and spa/wellness offerings and determine sunshine hours, air and water quality per location.  A score for each metric was then given to get an overall ranking score.

About OCEANSAPART: OCEANSAPART create activewear that is fashionable, comfortable and unapologetically feminine. Their products are designed to empower and inspire people to embrace their uniqueness, all in the spirit of enjoying the moment, experiencing new things and living life to the fullest.
