Online Mental Health Conference Launches to Celebrate World Mental Health Day

The Talking Mental Health Conference is a two-day online conference on 8th and 9th October, focusing on a range of mental health and wellbeing topics. For 2020, the conference is going online to provide learning opportunities to people around the globe – including a celebrity guest!

Popular award-winning training and events company, Ajuda Training, proudly launch their second annual Talking Mental Health Conference in an online setting. The two-day event, originally planned to take place in Cardiff City Stadium, will now take place online via Zoom conferencing software. The event celebrates World Mental Health Day, which is recognised on the 10th October every year.

Ajuda have organised a range of mental health events over the past two years such as the Mental Health & Wellbeing Show and know the importance of providing learning opportunities and signposting individuals to the correct support they are looking for. According to the Mental Health Foundation, “It is estimated that 1 in 6 people in the past week experienced a common mental health problem” and that Mental Health problems are the main cause of disability worldwide.

The event will cover a huge range of topics including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, special educational needs, loneliness and much more. Speakers over the two days include:

  • Hope Virgo – Eating Disorder Support Campaigner and Author
  • Sue Atkins – Parenting Expert
  • Dr Susie Nyman – Multi-Sensory Teacher
  • Jack Sargeant MS – Member of the Senedd and Mental Health Campaigner
  • Lynn Ruth Miller – 86-Year-Old Comedian featured in Britain’s Got Talent and First Dates
  • Fin O’Regan – Youth Behaviour Expert
  • Representatives from CAMHS and other Youth Organisations

The 8th October will focus on issues related to Adult’s mental health, with the 9th exploring Youth-based mental health concerns. To access individual conference days is £20 per ticket, with a special deal of £30 to access both days of the conference. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite here:

Event Director, Dawn Evans, has been working tirelessly during the past months to continue producing events for loyal customers.

Dawn said, “Recent months have been a giant learning curve for the business, having to re-adjust how we run our events and making big decisions about cancelling or postponing some of our biggest events.

Mental Health is more important now than ever, with news reports making it clear that COVID has had a significant impact on the mental health of many sections of society. We hope that by continuing to provide awareness on mental health issues, we can be part of the solution.”
