Midlands Based Business Helps Raise £2.5M for Local Hospice

CHAMPIONS UK Plc has now raised a staggering £2.5m for a local hospice which helps support children and families across the Midlands.

Glasses were raised during the latest fundraising event, an elegant charity dinner held at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium.

Hosted by sports star and broadcaster Gail Emms MBE, guests included cricketing legend Sir Geoffrey Boycott OBE, Geoff Miller OBE and Matthew Hoggard.

Those attending enjoyed a three-course meal accompanied by piano music played by Adrian Dixon, as well as an inspiring Q&A with Sir Geoffrey.

A charity auction held on the night also helped to raise thousands of pounds for Rainbows, which Champions have now been supporting for an incredible 15 years.

John Hayes, the CEO of Champions UK Plc, said: “To reach £2.5million is an important moment, but we remain firmly committed to continue helping Rainbows provide the lifeline work that they deliver long into the future.

“It was great to see the local community, including so many business figures, coming together at the charity dinner to support us and to support Rainbows.

“Rainbows’ mission is to brighten the lives of families and children going through unimaginably difficult times, and to help them make the most of their time together. Rainbows’ work is close to our heart, and we look forward to continuing to offer our support in years to come.”

Champions’ commitment to giving back to its local community is a vital part of its business plans, with the business regularly hosting a range of events including football tournaments, charity balls and sports dinners, allowing a plethora of individuals from different backgrounds to become involved.

Its extensive calendar of charity events allows Champions to make long-lasting connections with like-minded, socially conscious individuals and organisations that want to make an impact.

John added: “Offering this kind of support will always remain at the heart of our business.”
