Delta Wellbeing shortlisted as regional finalists in five categories of the Great British Care Awards

Delta Wellbeing are finalists in an impressive five categories in the Wales region of the Great British Care Awards.

The awards celebrate excellence across all areas of the care sector recognising the work of frontline staff such as care workers and care managers, and those people who have made an impact in other ways such as training and innovation.

Delta Wellbeing has been shortlisted for the Care Employer Award along with the awards for Dignity in Care, Putting People First and Workforce Development. In addition, community response officers Mark Burt and Nadine Rees (yn y llun) have been recognised for their exceptional service, both being nominated for the Home Care Worker Award.

The company’s innovative 24-hour community-based response service, the first of its kind in Wales to be registered with Care Inspectorate Wales, provides vital domiciliary care and emergency social care support. The service helps residents avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, supporting independent living, and assists patients transitioning home from hospital until reablement or long-term care is in place.

Delta Wellbeing is a Local Authority Trading Company, owned by Carmarthenshire County Council, and provides assistive technology and proactive monitoring to support older and vulnerable people to live more independently.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Social Services Cllr Jane Tremlett said: “I am thrilled to see Delta Wellbeing recognised for their extraordinary work in these prestigious awards. Being shortlisted in five categories is a testament to their innovation and the significant impact they have on the lives of our most vulnerable residents. Their dedication to providing compassionate, person-centred care, particularly in urgent situations, is truly commendable.

“Delta Wellbeing’s close collaboration with social services and the health board ensures that residents receive the care they need at home, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions and promoting better outcomes. This recognition is well-earned, and I want to personally thank the team for their unwavering commitment to improving lives in Carmarthenshire.”

The winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 6 at a special gala dinner at Cardiff’s Marriott Hotel.
