91% Of People Happy To Test For Serious Health Conditions At Home, Signalling Significant Evolution in Healthcare

For World Health Day, new and exclusive data by 2San, a global supplier of high-quality innovative healthcare products and solutions, has found there is a clear need to find new solutions in order to support the NHS. This follows the finding that 67% of the UK public worry the health service cannot provide required healthcare quick enough due to ongoing strains.

At the same time, the data has shown there is a significant and increased interest for at-home testing, finding that 91% of people are happy with the process of self-diagnostic testing, with consumers acquainting themselves with utilising lateral flow tests during the global pandemic.

With over 100,000 staff shortages in recent years , resulting in more than 2 million people waiting over 5 months for general hospital appointments , the need for faster and more accessible healthcare solutions is key.

Resolving these barriers, 79% of people have expressed interest in using self-diagnostic tests at home for key health issues, such as UTI’s, if it meant they didn’t need to see their GP for the initial test. By encouraging and giving more people access to affordable and reliable at-home tests, this will help enable a faster diagnosis, freeing up more space for more prevalent health emergencies. All helping to reduce stresses on these services whilst at the same time allowing consumers to take control of their health.

Since the coronavirus outbreak, 46% of people worry about their health more so now than pre-pandemic, and with only 25% of people having private healthcare insurance in the UK, there is now the added worries of financial hardships. Therefore, offering more accessible and affordable healthcare options, such as self diagnostic kits, in key retailers and online will help tackle these barriers.

Making healthcare more openly available for consumers and with 2San’s company vision for Better Care. Better Life, it has secured two key, nationwide listings; Amazon a multinational digital company and the UK’s largest online marketplace, alongside a partnership with LloydsPharmacy.

Seven new rapid self-test products have been launched across Amazon UK and LloydsPharmacy website, with a rapid Strep A test also available on LloydsPharmacy sites, putting the products directly into the consumers’ hands, democratising healthcare, and breaking down barriers. Tests start at RRP £4.49, making healthcare more affordable and accessible and include:

● 2San Stomach Ulcer (H. Pylori) Test
