Vitality has this week announced a range of initiatives that provide additional ways for its members across Health, Life and Invest to keep active and healthy – as well as continue to be rewarded – throughout this exceptional time.
Vitality at Home will provide free access to home workouts on both Peloton and Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill’s app ‘Jennis’, with members able to earn points automatically when they workout. They are also offering up to 50% on selected Garmin and Polar devices to help members track their workouts at home.
The provider is also introducing a highly relevant new Active Reward that gives members up to two movies on demand at home each week for staying active and earning points, through Rakuten TV.
In recognition of how important it is to eat healthily at the moment, Vitality has also enhanced its current healthy food benefit with Waitrose, by boosting the discount available on their Good Health range to 25% – irrespective of how many points members have earned in the previous month.
Vitality has also taken a number of steps to protect its members’ Vitality statuses. If their plan is renewing within the next three months, Vitality will apply the higher of their previous or current year’s status, to their Vitality plan the following year. Members will also be able to complete Vitality Healthchecks at home through virtual appointments with a nurse and a healthkit which will be posted to them.
The insurer has also been working on an Instagram wellness series with its Vitality Ambassadors, including Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, Jonny Wilkinson, Jos Buttler, Joe Root, Ellie Simmonds and Tracey Neville, their Performance Champions, alongside experts from within their own team, amongst others. Every day at 4pm, they will post short videos full of tips to inspire people to stay active, eat well and other ways to stay healthy.
Neville Koopowitz, CEO of Vitality, commented:
“During these exceptionally testing times, where people are trying to get to grips with remote working – many for the first time ever – while also possibly juggling family and home-schooling, it would be all too easy to let health and wellbeing slip. In launching Vitality At Home, we wanted to ensure our members receive all the support they need to adjust to this new life and way of working and are able to keep active, whilst also ensuring their Vitality status remains protected. This is in addition to boosting the discount we offer our members on Waitrose healthy food to 25%, alongside mental health support such as Healthy Mind.”
Last week Vitality also introduced a new COVID-19 Cashback benefit. VitalityHealth members who require a hospital stay due to Coronavirus can claim £250 per day for Days 1 to 8, and £500 for Day 9 onwards, subject to a maximum of £5000.
