Delta Wellbeing has been commended for its high-quality, compassionate and person-centred care in a recent inspection by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).

The report highlights the company’s excellence and commitment to delivering exceptional service through a dedicated and passionate community response team, led by highly supportive and visionary management.

It praises Delta Wellbeing for placing people’s individual circumstances and needs at the core of its services. The company’s approach to care planning and review ensures that each person’s needs and preferences are met with tailored, person-centred care.

In particular, the collaboration between Delta Wellbeing and Home First – a multi-disciplinary team of health and care professionals from Hywel Dda University Health Board, Carmarthenshire County Council and the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust, is commended for its success in preventing hospital admissions and facilitating timely discharges, ensuring people receive the right care at the right time.

Customers spoke highly of the company and the care they received, with one relative describing Delta Wellbeing as “an excellent service that had a massively positive impact on our lives at what was a difficult time for us as a family.” Another service-user told the inspector: “They were excellent, they were so caring. They really helped to reassure me; it was such a relief. I don’t know what I would have done without them.”

The report highlighted the dedication and compassion of the response officers, who are valued for their respect, professionalism and the positive impact they have on the people they support. Staff also spoke passionately about their roles; with one of the responders telling the inspector: “Working for Delta Wellbeing is a very rewarding job. It is very comforting to know you are helping individuals in their hour of need.”

The inspection found no areas of non-compliance or significant areas for improvement, demonstrating the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and service delivery.

Delta Wellbeing is a Local Authority Trading Company, owned by Carmarthenshire County Council, which provides assistive technology and proactive monitoring to support older and vulnerable people to live more independently. It is the first service of its kind in Wales to be registered with CIW, allowing staff to be able to provide the necessary care and support when attending to a client at their home.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Social Services and chair of the company’s Governance Group Cllr Jane Tremlett said: “The excellent feedback from the inspection reflects Delta Wellbeing’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional care and support to the community.

“I am extremely proud of the work they do every day, working closely with health and social care professionals to deliver person-centred care that meets the unique needs of each individual. With a passionate and dedicated team, Delta Wellbeing is committed to improving the lives of those they serve, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care during extremely challenging times.”
