Lec Medical Launches Secret Santa Campaign for Care Heroes

Lec Medical – part of Glen Dimplex Home Appliances – has launched a new Cookies for Carers campaign to recognise the work of the UK’s care heroes.

Following the success of the initial campaign earlier in the year, the company, which has been supplying the NHS, pharmacies and care homes with medical fridges and freezers for more than 20 years, is launching Lec Medical Secret Santa, allowing NHS and healthcare workers to be nominated by colleagues, friends and family to receive a decorated Santa cookie by post.

A simple nomination form on the Lec Medical website (www.lec-medical.co.uk/cookiesforcarers)  allows users to nominate friends, family, colleagues or their carer, who work for the NHS, pharmacies or care homes and to send them a free sweet treat via Royal Mail.  The nomination form will be open on the Lec Medical website every Thursday until December 17th from 9am until midnight (or Santa cookie capacity is reached!)

The handmade iced cookies will be delivered through the post in a letter box-sized box requiring no contact, with a message for the recipient telling them who their Secret Santa is.

Mike Butt, MD of Lec Medical, said: “The UK’s care heroes have been inspiring us all year with their acts of bravery, determination and selflessness.  The initial Cookies for Carers campaign went down really well and we know it brought a little happiness to many carers – so we wanted to get into the festive spirit and allow people to send Secret Santa treats to those who deserve it the most.

“It’s a small gesture, but we know many care workers are working long hours in difficult conditions and at this time of year it is even tougher, so we hope this will help lift their spirits and remind them that they are valued.”

With the Covid-19 vaccines on their way Lec Medical has increased its production of medical refrigeration, with staff at GDHA’s manufacturing site in Merseyside, who usually work on other brands such as Stoves and Belling, drafted in to help meet production demand.
