Nurses looking for new career opportunities in 2019 are invited to attend a recruitment open day at Northampton General Hospital (NGH) on 2nd February 2019 from 10am to 2pm.

The hospital has openings for nurses and midwifes to work in Medicine, Paediatrics and Theatres. At the open day nurses will get the chance to meet the nursing team, take a tour of the facilities and find out about more the roles available and prospective candidates. Live job interviews will also take place, so nurses should bring their CVs. Conditional job offers will also be awarded on the day.

There are many benefits of a nursing career at Northampton General Hospital include the fantastic training and development opportunities, which are second to none. Not only has the hospital completed the Pathway to Excellence® programme, it offers highly supportive culture and environment for nurses and has programmes in place such as Everyday Hero and Daisy award schemes to reward and recognise nursing staff. Professional development is also prioritised. Leadership and development opportunities are also open to nurses and they can participate in courses run in partnership with The University of Northampton and access the RCN leadership programme.

Sheran Oke, Director of Nursing Midwifery and Patient services at Northampton General Hospital says,

“Nurses looking for a fresh challenge in 2019 at a hospital recognised as a centre for excellence for career development are encouraged to attend our open day. We offer wonderful clinical and non-clinical training facilities for nurses and have state of the art equipment in our radiology and histopathology departments.  A key focus for us is the education, training and development of nurses. We look forward to meeting nurses at the open day and letting them know about the exciting opportunities on offer.”

Northampton General Hospital is one of the key partners in the ‘Best of Both Worlds’ recruitment campaign, launched last year by Altadicta, designed to address the chronic nursing shortage across Northamptonshire.

It is the first campaign of its kind to bring together several NHS providers to address the national shortage of doctors and nurses by highlighting the many benefits of relocating to Northamptonshire, including the varied career opportunities and better quality of life.

The campaign unites the University of Northampton, Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Northampton General Hospital, Kettering General Hospital (KGH), St Andrew’s Healthcare and Northants GP.
