Tipi unleashes puppy power to combat stress for Mental Health Awareness Week

This Saturday 18 May, lifestyle-led rental homes provider Tipi is set to hold its inaugural ‘Puppy Paw-ty.’

Tipi’s approach to rentals means that apartment living is social, with regular events for residents – both human and furry!

The ‘Puppy Pawty’ takes place during Mental Health Awareness Week, with veterinary behaviour specialist Dr Julie Ashton of Life on Four Legs noting that,

“The benefits of owning a pet can be huge. Studies have shown that pets can decrease our blood pressure, heart rate and our levels of cortisol – one of our main stress hormones. Owning a dog means we are more likely to get out and about walking each day, which has both mental and physical benefits.”

Taking place at Tipi’s sleek, stylish Landsby building in Wembley Park, the Puppy Paw-ty is open to both pet-owning residents and those without furry friends. The paw-some event line-up includes a special doggy brunch (with a healthy catered brunch for human residents too), and activities taking place in Landsby’s exceptional shared social spaces, which encompass a resident kitchen, private dining room and lounge.

Landsby was the first Tipi building to welcome pets. Dr Julie Ashton observes:

“People often approach me with concerns about pets living in apartments. However, contrary to popular opinion, with the correct environmental optimisation pets can thrive in apartment set ups!”

The Tipi team are certainly doing all they can to ensure that their four-legged residents thrive and that their two-legged residents feel confident in owning pets while renting. Those attending the Puppy Paw-ty will be able to mingle in Landsby’s social spaces, interact and pet a puppy, with members of the Tipi team bringing their own dogs in addition to residents’ pets.

If you plan to cover renting with pets and the mental health benefits that this can have (including the body image benefits, given this is the focus of 2019’s Mental Health Awareness Week), the Tipi team would be delighted to help.

Private lounges and a communal kitchen are available for Tipi residents to use and include superfast 100 Mb/s broadband, Sky TV and Sky Sports, a gym and cinema room. Apartments are available to rent and move in immediately with pets welcome in selected units.

Tipi, winner of the What House? 2018 Gold Award for Best Build to Rent Project, has four complete and operational buildings in Wembley Park: Montana, Dakota, Alto and Landsby. They offer brand new studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, with rents inclusive of all utility bills and superfast broadband, with the option to upgrade to ultra-fast 1Gb/s. Most apartments boast a balcony and all benefit from access to private gardens. 24-hour concierge and night security meet customers’ everyday needs and additional services can be added to tenancy agreements such as secure underground parking, domestic cleaning, laundry and dry cleaning services.
